Technical Tuesday Episode #370: Simplicity Is Beauty With Unstained Wine Racks

Accents, embellishments, and all these “extras” in a wine cellar project undoubtedly make it eye-catching. They give a wine cellar more character and contribute a lot to the uniqueness factor. But not everyone is into the fancy stuff, though. There are those who prefer to stick to a simple and understated style. And you know what? Something uncomplicated and clean can really accentuate the beauty of a wine cellar project – like today’s Tech Tuesday spotlight:

Project # 301139
Wood: Custom / All-Heart Redwood
Bottle Capacity: 1079
Where: Mountain Brk, AL

Simple but elegant!

We have here a medium-sized wine room sans the bells and whistles. Nonetheless, we are confident that nobody will think that this cellar is “lacking.” In fact, it is chock full of all the right stuff, which we will obviously talk about! Let’s start with the racking arrangement itself. The bottle storage capacity of this project is really impressive. Notice how the allotted space is quite uneven and yet, it can host approximately up to a little over a thousand bottles. This is the great advantage of using custom racking units. This wine cellar is composed of nothing but custom wine racks and it pays off beautifully. With custom wine racks, you can easily outfit any space and really maximize it.

Take another, longer look at the racking assembly in the second image below. Notice that despite the awkward layout of the space, the racks still look like they’re built into it. There are no gaps between the racks and the floors, the ceilings, and as well as the corners. This is all thanks to the custom crown and base moldings that were incorporated into the assembly. These moldings are perhaps the only “extras” you will see in this project. They definitely spell the difference between just a simple look and a simple but elegant one:

Unstained All-Heart Redwood

The wood option for the wine racks is All-Heart Redwood. No question about quality there! All-Heart Redwood is tops when it comes to wood choices for wine cellar projects. But instead of dressing up the racks, both our design team and client agreed on an unstained version instead. So the attractive golden shades you see here are definitely all-natural. These are the natural colors of unstained All-Heart Redwood that exude beauty and class. It’s a lot like a beautiful face devoid of make-up! Now share with us your thoughts on this project as well. Would you also go for the simplicity theme or do you prefer some “bling” instead? Go ahead and leave your thoughts in the comments below! *Cheers*
