Our Grand Mahogany wood option is on a roll! This time, it’s in a winning combo with our Vintner Series wine rack kits. Quality on quality – that’s how we’d like to describe this fantastic DIY project. It’s simple yet attractive and totally space-efficient. But the fact that it utilizes our best wine rack kit series, along with a top-notch wood option, is what really sells it:
We’re pretty sure that it’s not just us who’s going to give a thumbs-up to the “built-in” appearance of this racking assembly. It looks like a fully customized job, don’t you agree? But as we mentioned earlier, these racking units are from our Vintner Series wine racks kit. This project is another living testament to the impressive features of Vintner as the “next best thing” to custom racking.
As we can see from the snapshot of the completed assembly, there are individual and bulk bottle storage options. The Individual Bottle Columns include Display Rows which is one of the newer upgrades to the Vintner Series. You can choose from the Vintner Bottom Stack with Display Row or Vintner Top Stack with Display Row. Either one allows you to showcase your favorite labels in a more visual manner. Moreover, note that despite being just a “kit,” these racks come with custom amenities. For example, the bottles are cradled on customized rails that are carefully manufactured with beveled ends and rounded edges. This helps ensure that wine labels will not tear when the bottles are removed or replaced.
This DIY project also shows us how “extra options” can really pull together a wine racking layout. Check out the racks in the picture and how seamlessly they come together, especially at the room’s corners. This is thanks to the crown and base molding packages that come with the Vintner Series. Moldings play more than just an aesthetic role in the design of a wine cellar. They are quite instrumental in removing awkward gaps between the racks, flooring and ceiling. They help achieve that truly “built-in” look to a wine cellar project. And in this particular instance, Center Trim moldings were also utilized for a more polished result. Also notice that thanks to all these add-ons, the racking units received an extra height boost.
Quality craftsmanship and a wide variety of racking styles are not that Vintner has to offer. The series also packs in all of the stain and finish options WCI has to offer. The clients went with our Classic Mahogany stain on this one. True to its namesake, Classic Mahogany gives wood that rich, reddish-brown hue which showcases the grain patterns very well. Our clients were certainly content with how their new wine cellar turned out – and that’s the way we want it to be!
