WAYNE, NJ (12/22/14) — GAF, North America’s largest roofing manufacturer, and Architizer.com, the largest platform for architecture and design online, recently announced the winners of the “Call For Installs” promotion, featuring submitted projects that used GAF residential or commercial roofing materials. There were two Grand Prize Winners, one in the residential category and one in the commercial category. Each Grand Prize Winner will receive $5,000.

Call For Installs was a collaboration between Architizer and GAF. The architects, developers, and homeowners who frequent Architizer were asked to submit examples of built work that incorporated GAF’s roofing products. The promotion began on August 22; GAF selected the finalists and members of Architizer voted for the Grand Prize Winners via a public voting system on Architizer.com.

The Commercial Grand Prize Winner is Lakewood Mausoleum in Minnesota by HGA, Inc. This pair of buildings used GAF products in two different ways — for new construction and for roof replacement. For the upper roof of the new Lakewood Cemetery Garden Mausoleum, HGA used the always popular GAF EverGuard® TPO 60 mil Membrane. This same product was integral in the renovation of the cemetery's Administration Building, which was built in 1932.

The Residential Grand Prize Winner is The Architect’s Studio for their 2.5-story "seaside colonial" shingle-style home in Spring Lake, New Jersey. The symmetrical and complex roof forms feature GAF's Timberline Ultra HD® 40-year, 120 mph-rated asphalt shingles in Pewter Gray. The seaside structure and roofing material weathered Hurricane Sandy while many other homes near the water were destroyed.
